the studio
Furniture, art and accessories make rooms come to life. That was what interior designer Julie Hockney had in mind when she opened The Studio by JH in 2016. She had been busy growing her design firm and saw her interior designers scurrying around Omaha going from store to store shopping for the finishing touches for their projects. This “styling” was key to these spaces, and having the right products was important.
Julie realized she could provide her designers with quality furniture, art and accessories for their own projects and create a retail environment where anyone could do the same. Six years later in 2022, The Studio by JH expanded to a 2,000 square foot space in Clocktower Village, located between Julie’s two other businesses, The Winery & Deli and Bouquet, a floral design studio.

Meet Julie Hockney
A true visionary, Julie Hockney started her interior design business in her basement when her firstborn was two weeks old and has grown it into a successful firm with 15 employees and a branch in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She is proud of what The Studio by JH has become and credits her team, and specifically Robyn, for its stunning look and feel. Visitors will often see Julie flitting from The Winery to The Studio to Bouquet helping clients, greeting friends, and working with her employees. Her warm demeanor is infectious, and her entrepreneurial pursuits never stop.

Meet Robyn
Robyn is a merchandising magician and expert stylist. She is what made The Studio by JH come to life. Visit the store every few weeks and you’ll see something new–a show-stopping floral chandelier, spectacular curated vignettes and constantly revolving art. Robyn helps clients with their own styling and is available for consults. Bring her a photo of a bookshelf or a wall that needs help, and she’ll work her magic. Need more assistance? She also provides styling services in person.
